A lot of people are complaining on the Apple Support Forum about losing data after sending their iPhones for repair. They just get screen replaced and all the photos are gone and cannot figure out why. I am going to talk about how to recover the lost photos after the repair later. Here in this post, I would like to share how to back up everything on your iPhone before sending it for repair.
Backup iPhone Through iTunes
> Launch iTunes on your computer;
> Connect your iPhone to computer and locate and click on the icon for your iPhone after it is recognized by iTunes;
> Click Back Up Now.
> iTunes will start backing up then and you need to wait for a while if you have a lot of data stored on your iPhone.
Back Up To iCloud
> Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.
> Go to Settings > iCloud > Backup.
> Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on.
> Tap Back Up Now. Stay connected to your Wi-Fi network until the process completes.
> Make sure the backup finished by tapping Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage, and then select your device. The backup you just made should appear in the details with the time and backup size.
One Click Backup with iFoneBackup
If you are not happy with iTunes or iCloud, you can search for some third party iPhone backing up software. I would like to recommend iFoneBackup because it is very easy to use and it is free. With iFoneBackup, you can back up everything on your iPhone just with one click. You can also restore your iPhone to get back deleted or lost data from the backup, all you need to do is to copy the backup file to the folder where iTunes backup file is located.
Export iPhone Data As Readable File To Computer
Also, you can export and transfer data like contacts, notes, photos, reminders, messages and voice memos etc from iPhone to computer for record keeping in case that the iTunes or iCloud backup file is corrupted.
You can download an install a third party iPhone data recovery software iFonebox to export all the supported data from iPhone to computer.
Here is how.
> Install and run the iFonebox.
> Connect your iPhone to computer.
> Click “Start” after your iPhone is recognized by iFonebox.
> Click “ Recover All” on the interface listing all the supported data types.
> Define a destination folder for all the exported data if you don’t want t to use the default one.
> Wait until the exporting and transferring process finishes.
> Check the exported data.
You can use all these methods above to back up your iPhone and produce multiple backup files in case that something gose wrong and you can always have an alternative backup.
