Text messages saved on the iPhone are very important for us and we can never afford losing them without being able to get them back. Therefore it becomes necessary to backup all the text messages from iPhone or iPad to computer in case that something goes wrong.
Sure you can back up your iPhone messages by creating an iTunes backup or an iCloud backup which will include all your text messages for sure. The backup file, however, is not reable file. None the less, there is a better solution which can back up all the text messages selectively to computer.
With an iPhone data recovery software, you are able to backup all the text messages from your iPhone to computer selectively. iFonebox is such kind of specialized iPhone data recovery software that can help you backup iPhone text messages in a much easier way.
If you have iTunes or iCloud backup file, you can also extract the text messages from the backup file even if your iPhone is not at hands.
Here is how.
> Install and run iFonebox on your computer.
Note: iFonebox is available for both Windows and Mac, please choose the right version to download and install.
> Choose the recovery mode of “Recover from iTunes backup”. If you have backed up your iPhone to iCloud and created an iCloud backup file, please choose the recovery mode of “ Recover from iCloud backup”.
> Select an iTunes backup file for scanning.
Note: If you cannot find the iTunes backup file you want from the list, please click “Select more” from the interface to relocate the itunes backup through browsing your computer.
> Choose Messages to scan selectively by clicking on the icon of Messages app from the interface listing all the supported data categories.
The data scanning and analyzing process may take quite a while if you have a lot of messages stored in the backup file. If you choose to download from the iCloud backup, it may take longer if your network connection is awkward.
> Preview the exported text messages and select all to recover and transfer to your computer for backup.
If you don’t have an iTunes or iCloud backup file, you can choose to export all the text messages directly from the iPhone. Please refer to the guide about how to save text messages off iPhone for more details.
