“I recently dropped my iPhone 4s in the toilet and afterwards it failed to turn on. I then transferred the sim card into my old android motorola phone however none of the information is on it like contacts, pictures or music. I want to know if it is possible to get my contacts, pictures and music onto my android phone or onto a new iPhone, and if it is possible how i would be able to do it. Any help whatsoever appreciated.”
It seemed that the poster mentioned above is so desperate t rescue the contacts from the broken iPhone 4s that he or she even tried to transfer the sim card to reclaim the contacts information. Actually, the iPhone does not store anything on the SIM card. The only chance to bring back the contacts for the broken iPhone 4s lies on the iTunes backup on your computer if you are fortunately enough to have one. Or you are able to power on the drained iPhone again.
If you have the iTunes backup, you can either restore the backup to any other iDevice belonging to you. If you don’t have any other iOS devices, you need to find some third party iPhone data recovery program to extract the contacts selectively from the iTunes backup and transfer to your computer. Here I would like to introduce one of such kind of programs, iFonebox and demonstrate step by step about how to pull up the contacts selectively from the iTunes backup.
> Install and run the full version of iFonebox on your computer.
> Choose the recovery mode of “Recover from iTunes Backup”.
>Select an iTunes backup from which you want to export all the contacts for your broken iPhone 4s.
> Choose Contacts to scan selectively from the screen where all the supported data types are listed.
> After the data scanning and analyzing is finished, all the contacts items stored in the iTunes backup will be presented for previewing.
> Select all the contacts to recover and transfer to your computer. If you have any other iOS devices, you can plug it in to the computer and transfer the iDevice by hitting “Recover to Device”.
If you don’t have the backup, it is not the end of the world. Try putting your iPhone into a bag of rice for a couple of days or even weeks to see if by chance it powers on long enough to back it up to iTunes or export the contacts directly from the iPhone 4s with iFonebox.
Or if you have enabled the iCloud syncing for contacts by going to Settings > iCloud > Contacts. You can log into www.icloud.com to access and download the contacts from iCloud for your broken iPhone 4s.
