iOS 7 vs iOS 7.1, New feature of Apple iOS 7.1

Apple has released iOS 7.1 for the iPhone and iPad on Monday, Unlike iOS 7, iOS 7.1 is not be a completely new OS update. It isn’t rolling out with any mind-blowing features, though it does bring a ton of user-interface tweaks, visual enhancements and performance fixes.
New features like CarPlay and long-awaited enhancements to Siri and Touch ID headlined Monday’s iOS 7.1 update, but Apple also made several aesthetic changes as designers continue to refine the mobile operating system’s user interface.

Owners of the iPhone 4 should also see improved performance with iOS 7.1, while those who buy a compatible vehicle will be able to take advantage of CarPlay. Events can also be displayed in month view, iPhone 5s users can have the camera automatically enable HDR photos, and FaceTime call notifications are now synced across devices through iCloud.

Release notes accompanying the update state that it includes “improvements and bug fixes.” According to Apple, those are:

•   iPhone
Similar to the slide-to-whatever functions, Apple has removed the red and green rectangle buttons for declining and answering calls, respectively.
Thanks to iOS 7.1, when someone calls you, your iPhone will now display two circular red and green buttons. And above those circles you’ll see two floating icons for Remind Me and Message (rather than two white rectangles).

•   Dialer
Apple has changed the dialler in iOS 7.1 to mirror the visual changes of the Phone app. That means the large green rectangle is gone, and you’ll now see a circular green button for sending a call. The entire keypad also appears more vibrant with subtle colour gradients in the background.

•   CarPlay
Apple’s CarPlay compatibility feature has debuted in iOS 7.1. CarPlay enables you to connect your iOS devices to a compatible car to access maps, directions, messages, and more. The feature, which is considered an accessibility feature, will display all iOS content on a vehicle’s navigational screen.

•   Siri
Manually control when Siri listens by holding down the home button while you speak and releasing it when you’re done as an alternative to letting Siri automatically notice when you stop talking

Option to display events in month view
Country specific holidays automatically added for many countries

•   Accessibility
Bold font option now includes the keyboard, calculator, and many icon glyphs
Reduce Motion option now includes Weather, Messages, and multitasking UI animations
New options to display button shapes, darken app colors, and reduce white point

•   Camera
The “Camera” app now has an intelligent “Auto HDR” feature. When enabled, the camera will analyze the scene and automatically shoot in HDR if it feels conditions warrant it

•   Wallpaper motion
Apple introduced a parallax (or motion effect) in iOS 7, as well as a way to reduce it under Settings. Although the effect seemed cool to many, some users said it evoked motion sickness for them.
Apple has therefore provided an option to turn it off completely in iOS 7.1. When switching to a new background, you’ll see a toggle to turn motion on or off.

Since using the new 7.1 update we’ve noticed that the iPhone is now considerably zippier, especially the iPhone 4, something Apple highlights in its release notes for the update. Apps are loading a lot faster.
