Note:Though the latest backup file is always recommended, when it comes to recover certain data like text messages, you’d better choose the backup that contains the most data on your iPhone, at least , you have to be sure that the deleted text messages are included.

Also, there is a prerequisite to recover the deleted text message from iTunes backup after iOS 9.0.2 update, you need to be sure you have one. Actually, the iTunes usually automatically backs up everything if you enable it to do so previously, though this is not always the case at all.

Recovering the deleted text messages from iPhone with third party software like iFonebox is just as easy as a few clicks and don’t need to worry about losing any other data.
