I’ve enabled iCloud backup for photos on my phone. I see that it has backed up about 20 GB of photos. I have a question: How can I confirm the iPhone backup is working correctly and all the photos and videos are backed up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What’s the difference between iCloud backup and iCloud photo library?
There may be some confusion on how iCloud backups work versus iCloud photo library. Actually, iCloud Photo Stream is similar to iCloud Photo Library, but is an older service and does function a bit differently, but bottom line is it is not a backup or storage option, either. The only way iCloud actually backs up your photos is if they’re included in the iCloud backup. iCloud Photo Library, its sole purpose is to sync your content from one device to all other devices also using iCloud Photo Library. If you delete your pictures off one device while iCloud Photo Library is enabled, that picture is deleted everywhere.
How to view iCloud data?
The Photos app at www.icloud.com allows you to access the contents of iCloud Photo Library. However, you cannot access the individual content of an iCloud backup unless you make a fully restoration. Many iOS users may have problems with this progress. Furthermore, it will erase all the existing data on your device. So if you don’t place 100% trust in it, you can turn to a professional iOS backup extractor called iFonebox for help.
