Backing up your iPhone to iTunes is a regular way to keep a backup for all the data on your iPhone. In this way, you can safeguard your iPhone data against accidental loss. The problem is that the iTunes backup itself is not a readable file and you are able to separate data contacts, say the contacts.
To the best of my knowledge, the iTunes backup is intentionally used to restore iPhone and therefore it does not allow particular access to certain iPhone data from iTunes backup. If you want to find your iPhone contacts from the iTunes backup, you need to find a way to export the contacts selectively from the iTunes backup file.
Fortunately, there are dozens of third party iPhone data recovery software which can extract the contacts from the iTunes backup file selectively over the market. Here in this tutorial, I would like to introduce iFonebox which is fast and super easy to use and demonstrate how to find the contacts on iTunes and extract all the contacts from the iTunes backup file selectively.
Now let’s get down to the detailed steps.
> Install and run the iFonebox on your computer.
Note: iFonebox is available for both Windows and Mac, please choose the right version to downlaod and install.
> Connect your iPhone to your computer.
> Click “Start” after your iPhone is recognized by iFonebox.
Note: If your iPhone is not recognized by iFonebox, please make sure you have trusted this computer on your iPhone.
> Choose Contacts to scan and export selectively by clicking on the icon of Contacts app from the interface listing all the supported data categories.
> The data scanning and analyzing process may take quite a while if you have a large number of contacts on your iPhone.
> After the scanning process is completed, all the contacts will be exported and presented in a list. Please select the items you want and transfer to your computer by clicking on the button of “Recover to Computer”.
