“My phone storage is full because when syncing iPhone 5 to my Mac (10.10.5) it loaded 6.3GB of photos to my phone. I tried changing sync settings in iTunes but the photos are still on my phone. I do not get an option to delete albums when I go to photos>albums>edit. What am I missing here? iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)”
According to what is mentioned above, the problem the user want to solve is that photo albums cannot be deleted from iPhone 5 and the photos takes up so much storage space. Actually, it is possible to delete photos from iPhone 5 on Mac, and the user, apparently, does not know the correct way. Today in this article I would like to introduce how to delete the photo albums from iTunes on iPhone 5 on Mac.
> Create a folder on the computer that you now sync with, and add a single photo to that folder.
> In the Photos tab in iTunes, click the box next to “Sync Photos From.”
> In the pop-up menu next to “Sync Photos From,” choose the folder created in step 1.
> Apply the change.
> Uncheck “Sync Photos From.”
> Apply the change again.
> Your synced photos will now be removed from the device.
Or you can simply choose to restore your iPhone 5 from an iTunes or iCloud backup which does not include the photos currently on your iPhone 5. You are not suggested to do so unless you are sure that you don’t care data overwritten and permanently erased during the process of restoring.
Another thing that is of similar importance is to back up the photos properly to Mac before deleting them permanently through restoring or syncing from new folder with iTunes. Do you know how to back up the photos selectively from iPhone 5? Today I would like to introduce a third party iPhone data recovery utility which can export the photos from iPhone 5 selectively to Mac for backup. Here is how.
> Install and run the full version of iFonebox on your Mac.
Note: iFonebox is available for both Windows and Mac, please choose the correct version to download and install according to what kind of machine you are using.
> Connect iPhone 5 to Mac and click “Start” after iPhone is recognized by iFonebox.
> Choose photos to scan selectively by clicking the icon of Photos app from the screen where all the supported data categories are presented.
> After the scanning is completed, all the photos will be presented for previewing.
Select all the photos or whatever you want to recover to your Mac computer by clicking on Recover to Mac.
> After the recovering process ends, you will be brought to the destination folder where the exported photos are located.
