Get Help With Your Missing Photos From Your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch!

If you’re missing a photo or video from your Photos app, try these tips to help you find it again.

Method one: Check your Recently Deleted folder

You might have accidentally deleted your photo or video, and now it’s in the Recently Deleted folder. Go to Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted. If you see the missing photo, you can move it back into your All Photos album.

  1. Tap the photo or video > Recover.
  2. Confirm that you want to recover the photo.

Method two: Make sure that iCloud Photos is turned on

iCloud Photos securely stores all of your photos and videos in iCloud, so that you can access them on all of your devices. If you took a photo on your iPhone but don’t see it on your other devices, check your settings.

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
  2. Tap Photos.
  3. Turn on iCloud Photos.
  4. You might need to connect to Wi-Fi and wait a few minutes. Then look for your photos again.

Method three: Unhide your photos

If you hide your photos and videos in your Moments, Years, and Collections view, then you’ll only see them in your Hidden album. You can unhide your photos and videos from the Hidden album.

  1. Open the Photos app and go to the Albums tab.
  2. Tap Hidden under Other Albums.
  3. Select the photo or video that you want to unhide.

Method four: Restoring form an iCloud backup

  1. Turn on your device and tap Restore from iCloud Backup.
  2. Sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID.
  3. Choose a backup.
  4. When asked, sign in to your Apple ID account to restore your apps and purchases
  5. Stay connected and wait for a progress bar to appear and complete.

Method five: restoring from an iTunes backup

  1. Open iTunes on the Mac or PC that you used to back up your device.
  2. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable.
  3. Select your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch when it appears in iTunes.
  4. Open iTunes on the Mac or PC that you used to back up your device.
  5. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable.
  6. Open iTunes on the Mac or PC that you used to back up your device.
  7. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable.
